Diamond W Fireplace Doors: The Best Way to Get It “Just Right!”

Today a couple came into our store looking for a new fireplace door. Mr. and Mrs. Lamonte knew what they style of fireplace they wanted and they knew what finishes would work in their living room. The two biggest decisions were taken care of and they knew what size doors they would need but it still took them almost 40 minutes to make their selection. So what took so long? The details.

The Lamontes spent those 40 minutes comparing the different fireplace door manufacturers and looking for one that satisfied all their needs. The ended up settling on a Diamond W fireplace for a couple of reasons. The price was part of it. Diamond W doors are a couple of hundred dollars less expensive than there nearest competitor without any noticeable difference in quality. But what finally sold them were the little things that Diamond W does right. Here’s four examples:

  1. Diamond W offers the largest variety of finishes. A wide selection of finishes may not matter to you if you want something simple, like brass or nickel, but sometime simple just doesn’t cut it. Mr. Lamonte had a full bar set up in their living room and he wanted the new fireplace’s finish to match the unique bar railing that was attached to the bar. He was adamant about it. The railing was a unique combination of brass and bronze. Our other manufacturers didn’t have anything close. Diamond W did though. Mr. Lamonte went up and down our sample display until he found the right match. Diamond W knows you’ll need dozens of finishes just to find one that’s just right!
  2. Diamond W let’s you choose your door handle. The handle on your fireplace door won’t seem like a big deal. Not at first. It didn’t bother Mr. Lamonte. Mrs. Lamonte had a different idea. While her husband was putting each finish under his glasses trying to find the right one, his wife was puzzling over the plain selection of handles. She wanted something better. She pointed out to her husband, and to me that the handle is what you touch and use everytime you open the door and it’s the one part of the door that literally sticks out and asks to be noticed. Most manufacturers just give you a standard handle. Mrs. Lamonte didn’t like that. If she was spending the money she wanted to choose the handle. Fortunately for her, Diamond W agrees. They offer a selection of handles so you can find the perfect match. Mr. Lamonte stayed quiet. I guess he didn’t have much of choice either way.
  3. Diamond W doors stay closed. Mr. Lamonte was very concerned with safety. He went back and forth between the Diamond W door and our other models, opening and closing each one. Finally, he walked back to the Diamond W door, opened it one last time, closed it and said, “These doors will stay closed.” I knew what he was talking about. Diamond W doors lock into place with a clasp. When you close your doors you’ll know they are closed and won’t every have to doubt that fact or worry about them swinging open.
  4. The gated mesh doors have handles. This may seem like the most trivial difference of all, but it may be the most significant. The inner mesh doors of a Diamond W fireplace have tiny handles on them. Other doors do not. These handles make it much easier to open your mesh doors, adjust your fire and close the doors and to do all of this quckly and safely. I’d never noticed this difference before, but Mr. Lamonte did and that made all the difference.

If you’re shopping for fireplace doors, do what the Lamontes did. Know what you want and go get it. Picture how the fireplace will look and in your home and think about how you’ll use it day to day. Get that picture crystal clear in your mind and then find the door to match it. I bet that when you do, it’ll be made by Diamond W.
