Maybe We Should Change Our Name to “A Touch of Bath”
Everybody knows that the style and finish of the accessories you choose for your bathroom are usually the first thing people notice. Whether it’s brass, nickel, chrome or even bronze bath hardware, if the shower door, towel bars, towel rings, medicine cabinets, tissue holders and faucets all work together, you get a great look.
Probably the biggest mistake people make when they’re outfitting their bathrooms is buying different accessories from different manufacturers. I’ve done it myself and I’ve been sorry I did. When you do this, you run the risk that the styles and finishes don’t match exactly. Often the reason people have to “mix and match” is that suppliers don’t carry the full line of a certain style and will try to substitute a similar one. The results are less than perfect and that’s never a good thing.
Since we’re a Baldwin Hardware Preferred Partner, that’s never a problem. When Baldwin introduced their “Baldwin Bath” line, we made sure we carried the full range of products they offer in every style. So if Baldwin offers seventeen different styles of bath accessories, A Touch Of Brass does, too.
Bath accessories come in two main styles: “Estate” and “Images.” Estate is more traditional while the Images series has eleven contemporary and updated classic styles. So while I’m an “Estate” kind of guy who is partial to the look of an “Edinburgh” or “Springfield” series, I have to say the new additions to the Images line are pretty spectacular—especially the sleek new “Anzio” series that just arrived at the store.
Just a quick note: Every item in Baldwin’s Bath lines comes with easy-to-follow instructions (even I can install them) and screws for concealed mounting, two different types of anchors (toggles and plug), and set screws.
I have a confession to make: Though Baldwin makes lots of brass bathroom hardware, the Anzio line doesn’t come in a brass finish (only satin or polished nickel and polished chrome). This presents a bit of a problem when you have a store called “A Touch Of Brass.” But I think once people see these new lines of bath accessories from Baldwin Hardware, they’ll understand why I didn’t draw the line and stock brass accessories exclusively. Besides, if people keep ordering as many Baldwin bath accessories as they have so far this year, we may have to change our name to “A Touch Of Bath.”
